Customer frequently-asked questions

  1. What is a job?
A “job” is when you ask Freight Suppliers for a deal to move your goods. Freightbid tells suitable Freight Suppliers about your request. They will make “offers” for your consideration.
  2. What is an offer?
This is the price the Freight Supplier offers to complete the freight job. When a Freight Supplier places an offer it is binding upon acceptance of the customer. The customer can accept the offer at anytime.
  3. How do I list a job?
It easy. Simply register as a user and select the "I have goods to freight" option and follow the simple wizard. If you haven't already registered, you can register now.
  4. How will I know when an offer has been placed?
You will receive an email alert from the Freightbid system to let you know an offer has come in. You can also login to Freightbid and your bid requests will be listed there. Click on your bid requests to see who has placed offers.
  5. Can Freight Supplier see what their competition has offered?
No. Like any tender, when a Freight Supplier makes an offer this should be their best offer for your request.
  6. Do I have to accept any of the offers?
No. If you are not happy with any of the offers, do not accept them. If you do accept an offer you are bound to follow through and complete the deal, even if you later decide it's not what you want. Choose wisely and remember: there is much more than just price to consider.
  7. Do I have to wait the full bid period before accepting an offer?
No. If a Freight Supplier puts in an offer that you wish to accept, you can immediately accept that offer and the bid process will stop.
  8. What if a Freight Supplier defaults?
You should post appropriate feedback on our site to inform other customers. You may pursue any claim for damages through other normal avenues.
  9. How do I know if a Freight Supplier is genuine?
Freight Suppliers may have a Transport Service License (TSL). When a Freight Supplier registers we will endeavour to verify all TSLs, however where a supplier is not verified there is no guarantee. You can also check feedback, however this will only be helpful when a supplier has completed Freightbid jobs and feedback has been posted.
  10. Can I contact the Freight Supplier direct to make arrangements?
Not while the bid period is still active. If you attempt to contact the supplier and complete the deal outside of Freightbid, you will be in breach of the User Agreement and Freightbid may seek damages.
  11. How will I get the Freight Supplier's details?
When you accept an offer Freightbid will email the Freight Supplier your contact details. Once the Freight Supplier has these details it is over to them to contact you to complete the job. If a Freight Supplier fails to make contact then contact us through Freightbid administration and quote your job reference. We will email you the supplier details to follow up.
